Match Reports

It was cold, rainy and we were rubbish. Gave them three goals in the first half. They were well up for it and we weren't. Just about dried out.

Final Score:
Lost 7 - 2

A lesson learned in not putting chances away when we are on top and Redcar went away with the spoils. Always a good game against the green army and played in the right spirit with no niggles. Two soft penalties for both team and small improvements in our game will produce results.

Final Score:
Lost 1 - 2

We were back in County Durham again and this time displayed one of the best battling performances you will see from a side this season. Falcons showed they could keep it on the ground or go back to front if needed and it was a similar performance to last week - plenty of possession and chances - with nothing to show for it. When an Aycliffe striker latched onto a through ball and slotted past the keeper you thought 'oh no, not again'. The lead didn't last long. A push on Benno led to a free kick just outside the box and Hugh rifled home.

Final Score:
2-3 W

This was a hard fought, pulsating end-to-end tie that despite our best efforts and having plenty of possession we failed to capitalise and went out 2-1. Mitch opened the scoring early in the first half but shortly after the hosts equalised and a snap shot from the edge of the area put them in the driving seat. We had plenty of chances in the second half but either didn't pull the trigger early or looked for a pass when a shot was on. Disappointed with the result but not the performance.

Final Score:
2-1 L
After the disappointment of the previous week where all our efforts came to nothing it was refreshing to see our commitment and hard work was rewarded with a well-earned extra time 3-2 win in the league cup.

Final Score:
3-2

Although we lost 4-1 we didn't get the rub of the green. With Hayden deputising in goal with a black and blue toe we played great in patches but made a few bad decisions that led to goals. Plenty to build on as we know why things went wrong and we are much better than the result suggests. Played in great spirit by the Newmarket lads.

Final Score:
4-1

Falcons U16s started the campaign with a pre season 3-2 victory at Newsham Road against a very tidy looking Great Ayton team. Falcons took a 2-0 lead in the first half but 'Canny Atty' came back at them with two quickfire goals. A long range shot was scrambled into the net to maintain the lead and that's how it ran out. Great Ayton are a sound bunch of lads who did their club proud and we look forward to a return fixture later in the season when a break in fixtures allows.

Final Score:
3-2
